As many schools are letting out for the summer, we wanted to provide our readers with a list of some of our favorite family friendly activities in town this summer. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Cheekwood: Cheekwood offers amazing art, breathtaking gardens, and incredible exhibits that the entire family will love. Their International Playhouses exhibit opens this Saturday, May 21, and is an interactive instillation of 6 new playhouses, each inspired by the global travels of the Cheek family in the 1920s and 1930s.
Adventure Science Center: The Adventure Science Center is full of exhibits and hands-on experiences that everyone will enjoy. Check out the adventure tower, beekeeping exhibit, tinkering garage, planetarium, and more!
Nashville Sounds Baseball: Take them out to the ballgame and root for the home team at a Nashville Sounds baseball game this summer! What says summertime more than baseball, an ice cold drink, and some ice cream?
Strawberry Picking at Green Door Gourmet: During the month of May, on Wednesdays – Sundays, from 9am to 1pm, head on out to Green Door Gourmet to pick fresh, local, organic strawberries. Guests can choose a hayride or guided walking tour to the strawberry fields where they can pick their own berries, then head back to the farm for arts and crafts, games, product samples, and more.
Cumberland Park Splash Pad: Opening Memorial Day, the Cumberland Park splash pad is a must-do this summer. It’s FREE, has fountains, waterfalls, and shallow water for kids (and adults) to enjoy, features play areas for kids, a large sand box, and more. Pack a picnic and head down for the day to soak up the sun and play at this park.
Nashville Zoo at Grassmere: Visit the Nashville Zoo to see its latest renovations, pet kangaroos, brush the goats, watch the monkeys swing from the trees, look up at the giraffes, blow off some energy at the amazing playground, and more!
