The holiday season is in full swing! This is such a fun time to make memories, enjoy friends and family, and take in all our great city has to offer. We’ve put together a guide on the must-see holiday events in Nashville and its suburbs just for you!

Holiday Parades

  • Nashville Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 5, 2015
    • 10:00am
    • Participants will begin at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Broadway, heading east down Broadway to Second Avenue North, crossing over the Cumberland River and ending at the base of the Woodland Street Bridge
    • The Nashville Ballet, Vanderbilt Marching Band, balloons, floats, singers, and so much more are included in this year’s parade
  • Downtown Franklin Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 5, 2015
    • 2:00pm
    • Parade route goes along New Hwy 96, Bridge Street, 3rd Ave North, through the Public Square, Main Street, and West Main Street
    • A great family event with floats, balloons, candy and more

Christmas Light Displays

  • Franklin Christmas Tree Lighting
    • Thursday, December 3, 2015
    • 6:45-7:30pm
    • Downtown Franklin Square
    • Performances from Music City Strings, Freedom Intermediate School Choir, Centennial High School Choir, Christmas movies and scenes projected on downtown buildings, and surprise guests all followed by the tree lighting
  • Metro Christmas Tree Lighting
    • Friday, December 4, 2015
    • 6:00-7:00pm
    • 1 Public Square, Nashville, TN 37201
    • Join Mayor Megan Barry for food, hot beverages, live music, and fun for the whole family
  • Dancing Lights of Christmas at Jellystone Park
    • November 6, 2015 – January 3, 2016
    • Open nightly from 5pm-10pm with extended weekend and holiday hours
    • 2572 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN 37214
    • An amazing drive thru light show with dozens of displays, Christmas tunes, and Santa’s Village

Holiday Shows

  • Home Alone in HD with the Nashville Symphony
    • Saturday, December 5, 2015
    • 1:00pm and 7:00pm
    • This holiday classic will be shown on the big screen and will have its amazing score performed live by the Nashville Symphony and Chorus- fun for all!

  • Porter Flea Holiday Market
    • Friday, December 4, 2015 and Saturday, December 5, 2015
    • Ticketed Preview Market ($20) – Friday from 6-9pm

  • Holiday at Cheekwood
    • November 27 – December 20
    • 9am-4pm
    • Live reindeer, holiday lights, cookie decorating, portraits with Santa, Christmas concerts… you name it, Cheekwood has it! Check the website link for all the details!
  • Dickens of a Christmas
    • Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13
    • 10am-5pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday
    • Step back in time in this street festival that recreates the time of Charles Dickens! With over 200 musicians, dancers, and performers plus delicious food, vendors, and fun for the whole family, you don’t want to miss this.
