What constitutes as the American dream? Is it the pursuit of happiness? How about the pursuit of life, love, and liberty? Or is it finally figuring out how to lose weight without exercise? Exercise in an integral part of losing weight, no doubt about it. However, recent research has pointed to the idea that it may not be as integral as we think. Here are some tips our team at Cool Springs Chiropractic care has for our customers looking to lose weight without spending hours at the gym.

Fix Your Diet

This almost needs to go without saying. Your diet is going to be the main reason why you either gain weight or lose it. While we all would love to order from our favorite pizza place every other night, we don’t live in a world without consequence.

Whatever your weight goal may be begins and ends with a change in your diet. There are seemingly an infinite number of dietary trends and each one poses their own benefits. Further research can help you find a new diet that is easy to implement and keep. We know dieting can be incredibly difficult so here are some ways to make it easier:

1. Count Your Calories

Counting your calories is a great way to keep track of where you are on a daily basis. As the day goes on, the tiny little snacks we eat throughout the day can add up big time. Keeping track of your calories will help you know when enough is enough. You can even make it a competition, trying to see how many days in a row you can hit your calorie goal.

2. Cut Carbohydrates

Low-carb diets have burst onto the scene and for good reason. Keto diets focus mainly on fat with some protein with the main focus on limiting the number of carbs. This may mean cutting out bread and potato chips but it pays off dividends in the long run.

3. Eat Organically

Processed foods can contain chemicals and preservatives that make you feel lousy and bloated. Eating organically can help you save 100 to 200 calories per day which adds up in a huge way. Eating organically gives you more energy, keeping you going throughout your day.

Fix Your Sleep Schedule

There are also ways to lose weight beyond fixing your diet and one of the biggest ways is by improving your sleep schedule. Experts believe that sleeping at least seven hours per day is as important as your diet. Lack of sleep can lead to elevated levels of stress hormones.

This can lead to weight gain as well as an increase in hunger. Ever notice how you’re seemingly always hungry when you stay up late? Midnight snacks are great at the moment but contribute heavily to weight gain. Getting an ample amount of sleep also improves your mental health, which can have a huge impact on your weight.

Speak With Your Doctor

Sometimes, a sudden change in weight or an inability to lose weight doesn’t have to do with the amount of exercise or diet. Illnesses, diseases, and undiagnosed conditions can lead to sudden weight gain. There are many medical factors that influence our weight.

Sex hormones, liver function, insulin, gut bacteria, and thyroid function all play a huge part in our weight and our ability to lose it. If you have fixed your diet and sleep schedule and are still gaining weight or can’t lose it, it may be time to speak to your doctor. Receiving the right diagnosis can be a breakthrough.

Drink More Water

Sipping water throughout the day has been found to help you lose calories at a higher rate. This is because thirst can often be confused with hunger. This causes an endless cycle of you thinking you’re hungry, eating, still being thirsty, and thinking you’re hungry again.

Some doctors even recommend adding a pinch of Celtic sea salt or real salt to your water before chugging. The electrolytes in the salt will push the water into the cells where they need to be. Drinking more water will help you have more energy throughout the day and will help you fight off cravings.

Exercise Doesn’t Have to be at the Gym

How to Lose Weight Without Exercise

We know you’re looking for ways to lose weight without working out, but losing weight and a sedimentary lifestyle just don’t go together. There are plenty of ways to be active without spending hours at the gym. Choosing an active activity you enjoy doing, paired with a healthy diet will have you set well on your way.

This could be taking your dog for a walk around the block every morning or doing a dance class with your friends. Being active doesn’t mean rigorous workouts that leave you questioning your existence. Even small daily activities can go a long way in helping you lose weight.

Chiropractic Care

Believe it or not, chiropractic care can be a huge contributor to weight loss. Under safe circumstances, chiropractic care can help your body get rid of weight quicker. This is because of what chiropractic care does for your spine.

Regular chiropractic adjustment can relieve your spine of pressure that could be causing subluxations or dysfunctions. Removing subluxations makes daily activities easier, leading to you being more active. Back pain is one of the main reasons for sedimentary lifestyles. Removing that pain can help you become more active.
